GWO ART Refresher Course in Calgary

The GWO ART Refresher in Calgary reinforces advanced rescue techniques needed for high-risk scenarios in the wind energy sector. This GWO ART refresher course updates suspended casualty recovery, confined space rescue, and multiple-trauma incident management. Designed for experienced wind turbine technicians and team leads, the training ensures participants remain fully prepared and compliant with GWO refresher standards.

This GWO ART Refresher training includes the following modules:

  • Hub, Spinner, and Inside Blade Rescue (HSIBR)

  • Nacelle, Tower, and Basement Rescue (NTBR)

  • Single Rescuer: Hub, Spinner, and Inside Blade Rescue (SR:HSIBR)

  • Single Rescuer: Nacelle, Tower, and Basement Rescue (SR:NTBR)

  • Wind turbine technicians maintaining compliance with GWO ART refresher requirements

  • Safety personnel responsible for emergency response

  • Renewable energy teams needing GWO ART refresher certification in Calgary

  • Team leaders managing rescue operations in turbine environments

The certificate will remain valid for 2 years from the date of assessment

Upon successful completion, your certificate will be available on WINDA for download

Included in Course

All training equipment is provided and included in the course fee. Successful candidates will be issued with a GWO WINDA Certificate at no additional cost upon completion of the assessment

Requirements

Participants must be at least 18 years of age and in good physical health.

All candidates are required to be free from any medical conditions or disabilities that could interfere with safe participation in training.

A self-declared statement of fitness must be completed prior to the course.

A working knowledge of English is essential. Participants must be able to understand, speak, read, and write in English to follow course materials and instructions safely and effectively.

All new participants must register on the GWO WINDA system prior to the course to obtain a valid WINDA ID. This ID is required to record your certification.

Participants must hold a valid GWO ART certification, including:

  • Working at Heights
  • First Aid
  • Manual Handling

Participants must wear steel-toed safety boots to the training.
